7 Free Search Engine Resources You Should be Using Now By: Jinger Jarrett

Ask any business person who's website is at the top of the search engines if his/her site is making money, and the answer is almost always "yes".

An example is Glenn Canady, the author of "Gorilla Marketing" who employed only one of these strategies, and it made him over $1 million dollars.

The fact is, search engines can get you an enormous amount of traffic, and it's traffic to your sites that's free. However, in order to ethically and effectively market in the search engines, you need to use strategies that actually work.

Below are three different ways to effectively, and ethically, raise your rankings in the search engines. I've included seven different resources that you can use that will help you implement these strategies, and do it quickly and easily so that you can begin to see an increase in your traffic almost immediately.

1. Optimize your site.
To make sure that you are properly targeting your market, you need to make sure that you are marketing using the right keywords. This means optimizing your site to make sure that the keywords you have on your site are the keywords that your site is actually optimized for.

There are two tools that you can use to help you with search engine optimization:

a. Search Engine Optimization Fast Start Ebook - - will teach you simple and effective techniques for optimmizing your site. This ebook is now in its 4th edition, is completely up to date, and is one of the best ebooks I've seen on search engine optimization.

b. Web CEO - - This is a complete search engine optimization suite that offers 10 different tools to help you optimize your site for the search engines. It offers the most comprehensive, and step by step, set of instructions I've ever seen with any software package. According to the instructions, you can get started in one hour. The free version of this software will work for most, and it also includes a $97 search engine optimization course as part of the package.

2. Develop a linking strategy.
One factor that influences how well you are ranked in the search engines is linking. The more inbound links that you have pointing to your site, the higher you will be ranked in the search engines.

For each link that you have pointing back to you, that's another opportunity for your potential customer to find you. With credibility being such a big problem on the internet, to have someone recommend you increases your chance of making the sale.

To help you develop an effective strategy, I recommend that you read "Linking Matters" - This ebook shows you how to develop an effective linking strategy for your site, and do it very quickly.

3. Develop a content strategy.
The truth is, "Content is King". Most people online are looking for information. The more information that you provide for your customers, and the more valuable it is, the more likely you will make the sale.

Below are three different ways to develop content for your site.

The first and most effective strategy are articles.

Articles actually work for you in several ways.

a. Brands you as an expert so that customers come to you.
b. Provides valuable content to your potential customers.
c. Builds a relationship between you and your potential customers.
d. Creates a viral marketing strategy for your site.
e. Builds a linking strategy for you every time a webmaster publishes one of your articles.

No other strategy that I have employed has brought me more business than this one.

To find sites that accept articles, go here: This is one of the sites that I use because it's one of the oldest, and most reputable sites online for finding information on ezines. Unfortunately, there's no search, but everything is done by category, and the information is comprehensive, so you will locate rather quickly what you are looking for.

However, if the thought of writing your own content gives you nightmares, there's a way around this.

You can use public domain information. Public domain information is information that is free to use because it's in the public arena, or the copyright has expired.

To help you easily locate this information, I recommend that you download the public domain toolbar. You can get it at the Public Domain Forum - You have to register for an account to get the toolbar, but both the forum account and the toolbar are free. The toolbar is a very comprehensive resource of public domain sources.

The third content strategy you need to consider is blogging.

What a blog does is allows you to create search engine friendly content on your topic of interest. Combine this with an RSS feed, which the search engines love, and you have a winning strategy.

Not only will it help you build content for the search engines, but it can also help you raise your traffic and sales.

Here is a comprehensive ecourse that you can take that will drastically reduce your learning curve, as well as provide you with the resources you need to implement this strategy.

Finally, to keep abreast of what's happening with search engines, you need to subscribe to Search Engine Watch - This site offers tons of resources, news, and a newsletter on search engine optimization.

Apply one, or all, of these search engine resources to your search engine strategy, and you can expect a major increase in your traffic and sales to your site.

7 Free Search Engine Optimization and Writing Tools By: Jinger Jarrett

Traffic. Everyone wants free traffic, and what better way to get it than optimizing your site?

There are some very simple things that you can do to optimize your site. If you want to get more from your website, then implement these strategies, use these tools, and make your website spider food for the search engines.

Below are some of the best sites I have found for optimizing my sites.

1. Check your site.
Before you start tweaking your site, you need to make sure that it's either in Google or not banned by Google.

The truth is, you want to optimize your site for Google, which is now the number one search engine in the world.

It won't do you any good to optimize your site if Google won't accept it.

Use this tool to check your site.

Google Banned -

2. Toolkits
If you can find the tools you need in a collection, this will save you a lot of time, as well as frustration because you will know exactly what you need to do to properly optimize your site.

You'll want to check different aspects of your site like page rank, metatag information, and links. Nothing will drive your potential customers away faster than broken links.

This site, in addition to offering a forum on search engine optimization, also offers a nice collection of tools for helping you optimize your site.

SEO Chat -

These two sites also offer search engine optimization tools. It's really a matter of preference, as well as what tools you need to optimize your site.

Add Me -
Evrsoft -

3. SEO Software
You can also use software to help you optimize your site. Where software will help you the most is to actually help you optimize your site for the keywords you are trying to target. It's a waste of time to optimize your site if you haven't optimized for the right keywords.

This is the software I use, and it's free. It works for both MAC and PC, and it has some of the best documentation I've ever seen on search engine optimization because it's written for the average person. It also includes a basic search engine optimization training course, a 50 page manual, and excellent, step by step directions for preparing your website for the search engines.

Web CEO -

4. ROR Generator/Robots Text Generator
A what?

ROR is similar to a robots.txt file in that it gives information about your site. The difference is that an ROR file is in XML format.

You can use this generator to create an ROR file for your site, and then paste a button to the main page of your website. When the search engines spider your site, they'll spider this file and have a better description of what your site is about.

I would also recommend that you create a robots.txt file because this will tell the search engines what not to spider on your site. If you own a members' area, or you sell anything, you don't want the search engines spidering your download pages.

ROR Generator -

Robots Text Generator -

5. Site Map
A site map is not only a great tool for letting your customers know where everything is located on your site, it can also help you with the search engines.

By creating a site map, you will have an index of all the pages on your website. When the search engines spider your site, they'll find all of the pages. This will help you with your rankings.

Creating a site map, especially if you have hundreds, or even thousands of pages on your site, can be very time consuming. This generator will speed up the process.

Spider Map Creator -

6. XML Site Generator
Google is now offering webmasters a chance to submit an XML site map.

An XML sitemap is a search engine friendly sitemap of your site. This isn't written for your visitors though. It's written for the search engines so that they can find all of the pages on your website.

Even if you include a sitemap on your site for your visitors, I would still recommend that you use an XML sitemap. This can speed the process of getting your site indexed by Google. This is an easy way to make sure that all of your pages get indexed.

Creating a sitemap is easy. You can use the generator listed below. Once you've created your sitemap, submit it to Google.

XML Site Maps -

Submit your sitemap to Google -

7. Linking
There's been a lot of talk about linking because linking is one of the most important strategies for getting high ranking in the search engines.

The more links you have pointing back to your site, the higher the page rank you will get, as well as creating a way for others to find you. You can use this strategy to get referrals from other sites, which is free traffic. It's targeted, and you are being recommended by another site.

Before building your linking strategy though, you should check your popularity. See who you are linked to first.

Link Popularity Checker -

Once you have checked your link popularity, begin by building links back to your site. Below are two sites that offer directories you can submit your site to.

Directory Manager -

Free directories that don't require a link back -

Linking can drive a lot of traffic to your site. The more backlinks you have pointing back to your site, the more popular it will be. You'll also get a lot more traffic.

Before you start to market, complete your site. Optimize it for the search engines, and use these tools to help you get higher rankings.

5 Terrific Traffic Ideas That Don't Include SEO, JV's and PPC

5 Terrific Traffic Ideas That Don't Include SEO, JV's and PPC By: Jo Han Mok

Traffic. It's the all-important piece of the marketing puzzle that faces all web owners. Your product may cure cancer but unless there are people reading your information it won't matter. And not just any traffic. You want laser targeted, highly motivated customers ready to whip out their wallets and input their credit cards. You are searching for El Dorado. You know it's there. You've read that others have found it. There is a path and it starts here.

SEO, JV's and PPC traffic will all deliver targeted customers. These techniques require specific knowledge too lengthy to discuss in one sitting. Below are five diverse methods that you start to use to drive targeted customers to your site with the knowledge you gain here.

1. Join the world and start blogging! Blogging is an online weblog or diary that can be easily updated. Your readers can even leave comments or answer polls., a large server based blog, is owned by Google. Although there are great advantages to posting to a Blogger site you always want to have a blog hosted on your own site. Blogger will take down sites and sometimes for no apparent reason. You can lose all your data and traffic in seconds. Use Blogger to point to your primary site. This gives your site one more back link, another source for traffic and a reason for Google to spider and index your primary site following the links from Blogger. You can post the same content on both blogs and redirect people to pick up an RSS feed from your primary blog.

2. There are people talking about your niche on any number of forums and groups. Join several and provide accurate content rich answers to their questions. Be seen as a helper, someone who is truly interested in the topic and the people. Do not spam. Do not advertise but place your site in your signature line. You'll be pleasantly surprised at the number of good customers you'll receive. If people are motivated enough to join a forum or group to discuss their issue then they most likely are motivated to find good information.

3. Article marketing has been a topic of conversation for several years now. People seem to attempt this particular avenue and get discouraged easily. Although this type of marketing will economically generate targeted customers it is a time consuming job. The best technique to use is to post at least three to four articles per week to two or three of the top article directories. It's not necessary to post to 300 directories, just the ones with high page ranks like These article postings do three things. You have back links from a site with a high page rank; you have access to publishers and your content will be found on organic searches based on the keywords and phrases you enter when you post to the directory.

4. Viral marketing has a mystique about it. The first site that accidentally took real advantage of this method was Interview With God. The owner of the site published a public domain poem on the net just a couple of months before 9/11. His site was 'discovered' by many people who took solace from the poetry and began sending the site to all of their friends. The rest was history. The essence of viral marketing is sharing information with people you know. There are several avenues open to you and even more if you use your imagination. You can take advantage of social networking sites and social bookmarking sites where you can share your information with all of your new 'friends'. Tell a friend scripts on your site can encourage your current visitors to tell their friends. You'll find that people will tell their friends if your site is funny, touching or if you offer incentive. Another technique is to offer free information through ebooks with links back to your site.

5. Do you have expert knowledge on a particular subject that relates to your website and business? You not only can share that knowledge in groups and forums but also by using answer sites through Yahoo Answers or In these arenas people post questions and others post answers. People who read the answers rate them. Your site gets traffic when people perceive that you are giving high quality answers.

You have the knowledge to drive traffic to your site. This may not be the flood of traffic that dreams are made of but they are targeted customers, the most important kind of traffic. As your skill using these techniques improves so will the number of buying customers visiting your site. And isn't that the point?

5 Linking Strategies that Work

5 Linking Strategies that Work By: Jinger Jarrett

One of the most effective ways to promote your business online, especially if you use search engine optimization to build traffic, is linking.

However, as a certified Web CEO professional, and someone who also uses only "white hat" optimization strategies, I see people make a lot of mistakes when using this technique.

Below are some of the strategies that I use to make linking more effective, as well as raise my rankings in the search engines.

1. Do your homework first.
You're probably wondering what "white hat" techniques are.

"White hat" techniques are techniques that will always work with the search engines, like writing articles, blogs, and press releases, and optimizing individual pages for the search engines.

These are the primary techniques I use in addition to linking because they work.

Just ask Tinu Abayomi-Paul, the owner of Tinu is an expert when it comes to using search engines to build traffic to her sites.

She wrote me the other day to thank me for "inspiring her". I'm not sure exactly what that means, but I do know that she uses a lot of the same techniques I do to promote my sites. She now has over 90,000 relevant entries in Google, more than a lot of the top "gurus" on the internet.

The fact is, the more pages you have listed in the search engines, and the more links you have pointing back to your site, the more likely you are to be found.

Although writing articles, blogs, press releases, and optimizing pages definitely works, you still have to do your homework. This means actually doing a search in the search engines to find out how sites get to the top, i.e. what keywords they use, how their pages are optimized, etc.

I use Alexa,, for this because it allows me to look at traffic stats, as well as see what sites are linked to eachother.

To get started, search for the keywords you are targeting. Take a good look at the sites at the top. This includes studying the keywords, titles, and descriptions they use in their headers. Also, read the text of the pages. It's not that hard to optimize your page(s). Just write search engine friendly content that repeats your keywords. Make your content easy for your readers to read and understand though.

Now this may sound juvenile, but again, it works. Tools like Keyword Density Analyzer,, and Web CEO,, can tell you if you are on the right track.

You can also read Linking Matters, This short, and free ebook in PDF, will give you more tips on linking.

2. Link to complementary sites.
I get link requests all the time, and I have to reject about half of them. The reason why is that I won't link to sites that have nothing to do with mine.

I offer small business, internet marketing, and search engine optimization and submission products and services. Links to quote sites, joke sites, and shoe sites don't fit with this.

The key here is to understand that not only does Google, the most important of all the search engines, look at how many links are pointing back to your site, but they also look at the relevance of the links.

Sites that are similar, or complementary to yours, give you more credibility and higher page rank than having tons of sites pointing back to you that have nothing to do with your site.

Make the links pointing back to your site relevant.

3. Choose relevant, highly searched for, low competition keywords for your anchor text.
This tip relates to tip four. Before you start sending out link requests to other webmasters, make sure that you're targeting the right keywords. Not only are a lot of relevant links important, but your keywords should be keywords that will get you traffic.

4. Change your anchor text.
Recently Google decided that links with the same text between your {{a href=""}} and {{/a}} text should be different. Too many links pointing back to your site that had the same text "looks" like spam. This doesn't mean it is spam, and sometimes, you don't have control over how others link back to your site.

However, if you decide to exchange links with others, vary your anchor text.

5. Try other alternatives to software.
Although there are many software programs out there you can use to help you automate this process, I caution you to be careful when using this kind of software. Although it may speed things up for you, you may also end up with a lot of links pointing back to you that have no relevance. Also, these programs really won't help you as much as you think if you don't change your anchor text once in awhile.

If you do choose to use software to automate the process, make sure that you personalize your emails. Again, do your homework and make sure that you are actually sending out email to sites that complement yours. No one likes to receive emails that say "Dear Webmaster".

Using a directory script on your site can help you because others can visit your site and add their links. Just make sure that you check your directory once in awhile to see who is linking to you. Also, make sure that you set up your script in such a way that others have to have a link pointing back to you first before your script will accept their site.

Link Management Assistant -

You can also find reciprocal link exchange sites like Link Metro, Sites like this will allow you to choose your partners, search for new partners, and exchange links without being bombarded with email or generic requests.

Regardless of how you develop a linking strategy for your site, you need to develop one if you want high rankings in the search engines.

31 Ways To Promote Your Website

31 Ways To Promote Your Website By: Scott White

Just creating a website is of very little use. It is extremely important to promote the website, to generate the maximum amount of traffic and the maximum benefit from it. In this article we'll discuss 31 ways to promote your website.

1.Search engines are important in promoting websites. This is why you need to have high rankings in search engines to get more visitors to your website.

2.Try to make the contents of your website keyword rich. This helps your website to get a high ranking in the search engines.

3.You can also promote your website with the help of inbound or back links. These links connect the visitor to sites that also prove to be useful to the visitor.

4. Add the most important keywords of your website in meta tags. Give a different color for your link text or make it bold or in italics to differentiate it from others.

5. People usually search for their information using keywords; so it is better to get as much keyword targeted traffic with the help of pay per click search engines.

6. Press releases provide a great form of promotion
for your website.

7. The most important rule to adopt for website promotion is to make your website appear on stationary, like letter heads, pens and invoices.

8. Get your website listed in as many directories as possible so that people looking for information sites through this directory are sure to come across your website.

9. If you have a business website, it proves to be beneficial to list it with relevant trade associations.

10. Offline advertising is as effective as online advertising. You could perhaps hold an event, where you have your web address displayed everywhere for people to see.

11. When meeting clients and prospective clients, try to implant your website into their thoughts whenever you hold conversations with them.

12. Promote your website by writing about the articles or services offered on the site so that the general public will be interested in your website.

13. Try offering something free to the first 100 people buying or using your product or services.

14. Offer a prize to the one who is slow and steady; the one making the 1,000th enquiry.

15. There are many queries placed in newsgroups that may relate to your product or service. You could answer these queries, and tell visitors that more information is available on your website.

16. Provide an opt-in mailing list on your website to generate repeat business amongst existing customers. Encourage your customers to sign up for newsletters, or any other promotional information about your website.

17. There are many reputed mailing lists on the internet. Compile an introductory message on your website, and send this mail to as many email addresses as possible with the help of this mailing list. You are bound to see some results!

18. Use referral marketing to promote your website. Here you refer your customers to a related website, who in turn do the same for you.

19. You will find many companies selling traffic; they charge a fee to get people to visit your website.

20. You could advertise your services in a trade show, and give information of your product or service at the trade show.

21. Place as many banner ads on the internet, informing surfers of your website.

22. Balloons are a great offline marketing technique to get more traffic to your website.

23. Avoid using large graphics on your website. Large graphics take a long time to download, which may discourage visitors from visiting your website.

24. Flash is rather attractive, but it is not advisable for all websites as they take a long time to download. Surfers are not that patient to wait for a website to download.

25. Create business cards with all of your contact information on them. People will visit your website upon seeing it on the card.

26. If you run a delivery van, you could consider adding your website address to the side of the van so that people can see your address, and learn more about your business.

27. If you are a company, consider printing your website on the company's uniform.

28. Creating a pamphlet about you and your service or product produces for interesting reading and information!

29. Distribute as many pamphlets and business cards to people in your neighborhood and in places where people frequent like the mall or church.

30. You could mention your website in some articles having content related to your product or service. This way your website will be promoted.

31. Make your website format and presentation good so that a visitor is sure to make a repeat visit, and provide referrals for others to use the website!

16 Essential Do’s and Don’ts for Proper SEO

16 Essential Do’s and Don’ts for Proper SEO By: Anthony Kristovich III

SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is defined in the Wikipedia as a “set of methods aimed at improving the ranking of a website in search engine listings”. To the average webmaster, it’s how you get higher up in the search engine results pages and get more traffic. There are many myths and also many great pieces of advice I see floating around so I am presenting a list to you, the reader, of what to do and what not to do in the SEO world.

Having the correct knowledge you can get the best results. I see quite often sites employing “tricks” like hidden text and keyword spamming, and hopefully after reading this article you will at the very least know what to avoid like the plague. Afterall, while some of these tricks work even momentarily, in the long run (usually within a month) you get heavily penalized or banned.

1. Original content – Search engines reward websites with original content, which will also naturally draw incoming links and visitors as well. Original content can be anything from product reviews to a blog to your own articles.

2. Add more content regularly – How often a website is updated can have a big impact on your search engine ranking. Most search engines prefer fresh content, so you become a more preferred source by constantly having new and fresh content.

3. Research your keywords – You need to research which keywords you want to target before you even start making your website. These are the keywords that you will be targeting in backlinks when possible and your main page will revolve around these keywords.

4. Create a sitemap – Sitemaps are a definitely plus. It helps search engines walk your website with ease, since you’re hand-feeding it the list of webpages. It can also greatly help visitors find what they are looking for on your website. Be sure to link to your sitemap from your main page.

5. Use HTML – While this may sound obvious, there are sites out there created entirely in flash or javascript. While some search engines can read part of javascript, by not using regular html link between pages on your site may not even get seen by search engines, and your page text may never be seen, so your target keywords are never seen by the search engines.

6. W3C compliant – Making your web pages comply to the World Wide Web Consortium’s standards is always a good idea. It is impossible to know exactly how the search engine spiders read a web page, so it is impossible to know how it will handle non-standard code. You can bet, though, that it has been tested to handle html code that follows the standard.

7. Webpage title tag – Be sure to put your target keywords in your title tag.

8. Build backlinks at a normal pace – Don’t use one of those link farm programs where every member automatically shows links to all the other members. Search engines will see you one day literally showing thousands of backlinks instantly and this could get you penalized or banned. Link exchanges are fine if they’re the type where you agree to or initiate each exchange, because if you were out looking for link exchange partners you would be doing the same thing. The key is not have thousands of backlinks show up instantly.

1. Avoid cloaking – Cloaking is when you give your visitors one page, and search engines another page. Search engines want to see and index what your visitors see. Getting caught cloaking can have dire consequences on your site ranking.

2. Avoid hidden text – This is making text, but background or near-background color. Normally it has tons of text that is meant for only search engines to see (they read raw html), and is loaded with keywords. Search engines are very very good at catching this old trick and it will quickly get you a huge penalty or possibly a ban.

3. Avoid keyword stuffing/spamming – Avoid overloading your webpage with keywords that are only intended at tricking the search engines. The best way to avoid doing this is just write your text, with keywords in mind, towards your audience.

4. Avoid using flash or javascript for your navigation methods. Search engines usually can’t read these, or read them well enough to be dependable. Always use standard html links to be sure your site is easily walkable by search engine spiders.

5. Don’t submit your webpage url too often, if at all – You can submit your url directly to search engines, though search engines prefer to find your website via a backlink or incoming link. Resubmitting weekly or monthly can heavily damage your ranking with the search engines.

6. Avoid the “quickly get submitted to thousands of search engines” deals – While many of these do what they say, keep in mind that 98-99% of all search engines are powered by Google, Yahoo, or MSN. Just keep these 3 in mind and you’re covered.

7. Don’t forget backlinks – Link popularity plays very large into how your site is ranking by search engines, and is always a key element of SEO. Miss the backlinks part, and your SEO will suffer quite a bit.

8. Avoid excessive graphics and flash presentations – This is not to alter how the search engine looks at your site (directly), but at how your visitors view your site. There are many ways to make an effective website without overloading your visitors, and if a website takes more than 5 seconds to load, you will likely lose your visitor before they even get to visit your website.

As you can see, the list of things to do and things to avoid can have a large impact on your website. Heck, doing too many of the wrong things can get you outright banned and can be the demise of your website. The big things to keep in mind to keep you on the right track is to play it fair and don’t try to cheat the search engines. Cheating the search engines has a good chance at working in the short run, but usually in very short order you are worse off than when you started.

10 Ways To Get Incoming Links To Your Website

10 Ways To Get Incoming Links To Your Website By: James Woolley

Obtaining incoming links to your website fulfills two main objectives. Firstly it increases the traffic you could potentially receive to your site because the more links you have the more traffic you should receive, and secondly, by obtaining links from pages with a good page rank you can increase your own page rank which, although not the deciding factor, will help boost your ranking in the search engines.

Listed below are ten ways in which you can obtain these sought-after links.

1. Exchange Links With Other Websites

This process, known as reciprocal linking, is common place on the internet, and is something most webmasters do. However, while it's something you should do, it's important to note that search engines place more importance on one-way links than two-way or reciprocal links.

2. Submit Your Website To Directories

This is a good way of getting one-way links to your site (if a reciprocal link is not required). There are numerous directories you can submit to, offering both free and paid submissions. When deciding on whether paid submissions are worth it, you should look at the page where your link is expected to appear and see if it has a reasonable page rank, and the number of other links that appear on that page, with the fewer the better.

3. Build A Network Of Websites And Interlink Them

When building multiple websites it makes sense to interlink them, preferably from a home page link for maximum benefit. This can be very beneficial if each of your websites is on a different server, but be careful if they are hosted on the same server, as the search engines will think you're deliberately manipulating their results, and will most likely prevent you from achieving higher rankings.

4. Write Articles

This is a very powerful method of obtaining a lot of incoming one-way links to your site. By submitting your articles, which include the all important resource box with the link to your site, to multiple article directories you can pick up backlinks from not only these article directories but from other websites who pick up your articles and include them on their website or blog.

5. Write Press Releases

Writing a compelling news-worthy press release about your site or related topic, can also result in multiple websites and news sources picking it up and linking to your site. This is a very effective way of obtaining numerous one-way links very quickly, but doesn't offer the long-term benefits that articles do.

6. Create A Blog

Blogs are very easy to create with multiple websites offering free services, so there is no excuse for not creating a blog related to and linking to your main website. You could post anything - your thoughts, articles, or affiliate program reviews, for example, but make sure you include a link to your site in the links section, and at the end of each post if appropriate.

7. Leave Comments On Blogs And Guestbooks

You've got to be careful with this method that you don't abuse it and start spamming other people's blogs or guestbooks. Leave legitimate comments, and make it look like you actually have something to contribute. For example, just saying “Great Blog!” and then leaving your link is rightly considered to be spam, and will also damage your reputation in the long run.

8. Post On Forums That Allow Sig Files

Sig files are the line(s) that appear at the bottom of each message and act as a discreet way of advertising your site. You won't get a great deal of benefit in terms of page rank, as most forums do not have a high page rank for their threads, but you will build up a good number of links, and as forums generally tend to get spidered by the search engines regularly, they will follow the links to your site and subsequently spider your site on a regular basis.

9. Write Testimonials

By writing and submitting testimonials to websites that you have previously purchased products or services from, you can get high-quality links to your site, often from the home pages of the sites in question.

10. Buy Links

The final way to obtain incoming links is by simply buying them. This can have a dramatic effect on your page rank and subsequently your search engine rankings if you can get links from PR6+ sites, however the only problem with this is that most links for sale are often for a set period of time, usually a month, and so you have to keep buying them to maintain your higher page rank and rankings.

How to Choose Keywords for SEO

How To Select Keywords For Search Engine Optimization By: Evelyn Lim

Selecting the correct keywords can make or break your website. Potential customers search the web for desired sites, and if your website doesn't have the keywords they're looking for, they'll miss you.

Determining keywords is an art; it's best to work backwards. What would a customer search for if they were looking for your site? You literally have to put yourself in the consumer's place and let go of your preconceived notions about what you think your keywords are. You should remember when writing your site that you need to use words that are not only related to your content, but are popular search words as well. This is called keyword optimization, or choosing the most searched keywords related to your content.

Spend some time listing all of the words and phrases that are related to your website content. Get ideas from everyone you can think of and list them all. Visit competitors' sites and see what meta tags they use. After this research, you are ready to develop your own keyword phrases.

There are several sites designed to assist you in keyword optimization. Here are a few of the free ones:-

The Overture Keyword Tool ( ) lists searches related to the keyword you provide. This took is great for expanding your list.

Wordtracker ( helps identify keywords that will help your ranking on search engines. Wordtracker also gives you other keyword combinations that you may have overlooked.

The Keyword Tumbler ( takes your existing keyword phrases and mixes it up to form new phrases and variations that you can include in your meta tags.

A great website is not so great if no one finds it. Remember to research your keywords carefully from the consumer's viewpoint and then sit back and watch the traffic roll in!

Dos & Don'ts of Website Optimization for Top Ranking with Free Search Engines

Discover the Top 5 "Dos" and "Don'ts" of Web Site
Optimization that Will Make or Break Your Ranking
with the Free Search Engines!

If you want your online business to be successful, it's a good idea to optimize your site on a regular basis to make sure it's got a good position in the Web's top search engines.

However, in order to maintain your ranking, you have to keep on top of what's happening in the rapidly changing search engine industry. The rules that affected your ranking yesterday may be meaningless tomorrow!

Read on to learn more about the latest developments in the search engine industry and what key tricks you should (and shouldn't!) use to optimize your site to make sure it gets a high ranking with all the major search engines, plus the tools and resources you can use to keep it there.

The "Dos" and "Don'ts" are constantly changing!

The search engine industry is continually evolving. You need to know which of the major "players" is powering the smaller search engines if you want to know where you should focus your optimization efforts.

1. The battle of the titans

For the past couple of years, the major search engines have been preparing to square off against each other and battle it out for the industry's top spot. Google has been #1 for a while now, but Yahoo! and MSN have been making moves to steal the crown.

Google is still extremely powerful, with about a 55% market share. Yahoo! is the closest runner-up, with about 20% of users choosing it as their main search engine. And MSN is still a distant but threatening third, with about 10% of the global usage share.

Keep in mind, however, that Google and Yahoo! power many of the smaller search engines. For example, Google powers the free listings featured on AOL and Netscape, plus the paid listings
featured on AOL, Netscape, Ask Jeeves, HotBot, Teoma, and Lycos.

Yahoo! powers free listings featured on MSN, AltaVista, AllTheWeb, and HotBot, plus the paid listings on MSN, AltaVista, and AllTheWeb.

However, MSN won't be powered by Yahoo! for much longer! MSN came out with a preview of their own long-anticipated search engine technology earlier this month. They're still working out the bugs, and the official MSN Search engine is still being powered by Yahoo!. But you can expect MSN to go solo
sometime over the next few months.

You need to be aware of these changes if you want to gear your optimization efforts toward the engines that will send you as much traffic as possible.

2. The changing rules of search

Of course, you also need to keep tabs on changes to the search engines themselves!

Search engines frequently change the algorithms they use to rank sites. They don't want unscrupulous site owners manipulating their indexing methods in order to get high rankings. By doing so, they damage the integrity of free search!

As soon as the search engines become aware of a trick being used by "search engine spammers" to boost their site ranking, they figure out a way to catch them.

So be careful! You don't want to catch yourself employing a "great strategy" promoted by a marketing "expert," only to find out it's a tactic the search engines hate! That could get you booted off their listings in no time flat.

In fact, that's exactly what happened at the end of last year, during what has come to be called the "Florida Google Dance."

Google made some major changes to their algorithms in November 2003 and started imposing an "over-optimization penalty" on any sites that appeared to be artificially boosting their site's relevancy for targeted keywords.

Many members of the business community were surprised to find their sites dropped from their high ranking in Google's listings. These people had to put a lot of work into revamping and resubmitting their sites in order to get listed again.

And many of the people who were penalized weren't "unscrupulous" site owners! They weren't trying to pull a "fast one" on search engines using frowned-upon techniques such as "keyword stuffing." They were simply trying to be smart marketers -- and some feel they were unfairly punished for it.

You don't want the same thing to happen to you!

So let's have a look at a list of what exactly the search engines are currently looking for when indexing sites -- and what they'll punish you for!

The "Dos": Legitimate tricks the SEO masters use to optimize their sites and maintain their high ranking

The search engines don't want to be manipulated by marketers. They want to provide the best unbiased results possible for any given search -- or they'll lose users!

That's why they need to change their algorithms so frequently -- to stay ahead of the tricks people use to get top rankings.

That being said, there are still a lot of legitimate ways you can optimize your site without angering the search engines and causing them to drop you from their list.

Here are some of the best things you can to do ensure your site has a high ranking:

1. Ask relevant sites to link to your site

In the past, scoring a high ranking with a search engine was all about positioning your keywords in "prime real estate" positions in your text and site coding. All that has changed, however. These days, links are king!

Search engines place a huge amount of importance on the number of sites that link to yours. But it's not just the quantity of links that matter, it's also the quality. Search engines look at how relevant the links are -- i.e., how much the content of the linking site has in common with the content on your site.
The more relevant, the better!

Search engines also look at how "important" the linking site is. What kind of "online presence" does it have? How much traffic does it get?

For example, your site will get a higher ranking if it's linked to by sites such as or instead of, say, the personal homepage of your friend's neighbour's kid.

2. Pay attention to keyword inclusion and placement

Keywords may no longer be the sole determining factor of a site's ranking, but they're still pretty important. The most useful places to include them are:
In your domain name -- only make sure your keywords are in the root of your URL, not the stem! For example, if your main keyword phrase is "cell phones," try to get a domain name such as "" instead of "" Some search engines will actually penalize sites for including key words in the stem of a URL.

In the title tags in your source code

In the meta description of your site -- this is much less important than it used to be, but it can't hurt.

In your meta keyword tags

HOWEVER: Be sure you only include relevant keywords! Search engines will penalize you if you try to sneak in keywords that have nothing to do with the content of your site.

3. Create content-rich "information pages" to direct traffic to your site

An easy way to boost the number of pages that link to your site is to create some pages yourself!

However, you have to make sure these pages contain valuable contents that provide people with useful information. Search engines hate "pointer pages" that have no content and exist only to add to the number of links pointing to a site.

Be sure the information relates to the content on your site and has your keywords placed in advantageous positions. This will boost the ranking of your pages with the search engines and ensure they get lots of traffic -- which they can then redirect to your site.

4. Submit your site to online directories

Be sure to submit your site to important directories such as Yahoo!, the Open Directory Project, and, as well as smaller directories. Your listing on these directories will help your ranking with the major search engines.

5. Multiply and conquer!

Create a "community" of related sites that link to each other. Why stop at only one information page? The more content-rich sites that point to your site, the better!

You can also boost the number of links that point to your site by dividing it into several separate sites that all link to each other. This works especially well if you sell a number of different products or services.

If you build a different site to focus on each of your products and services, then you can also concentrate the use of specific keyword phrases on each site. That's another great way to boost your search engine ranking.

The "Don'ts": Tricks the search engines hate and why you should never use them, even if your competition does

Now that we've covered the "dos," here come the "don'ts." Although these questionable tactics have worked well in the past, the search engines absolutely hate them. If they catch you using any of these tricks, they may go so far as to drop you from their listings like a hot potato!

1. Beware irrelevant links!

Yes, it's a good idea to get a lot of different links pointing to your site, but the search engines only like RELEVANT links. If they find sites that have nothing in common with the content on your site linked to your web site, they'll lower your relevancy rating.

2. Beware irrelevant keywords!

Search engines hate finding irrelevant keywords on your site -- especially in your meta tags. If they catch you using keywords that have nothing to do with the actual content of your site, they'll penalize you for it.

3. Don't "keyword stuff" your meta tags!

In the past, people used to repeat their keywords in their meta tags over and over again. This used to get them a high ranking with the search engines -- but not any more! Search engines are on to this trick and will punish you for it by dropping your ranking.

4. Don't create "link farms"!

"Link farms" are the evil cousins of the "information pages" we discussed above.

In the past, some spammers used to build multiple "doorway" sites that existed only to multiply the number of links pointing to their sites.

Unlike content-rich information pages, these doorway pages would usually only include a string of keyword terms that would earn them a high ranking with the search engines.

The search engines have caught on to this tactic, however, and will drop you from their listings if they find you using it.

5. Avoid "free for all" link pages!

Don't bother placing links to your site on pages where everyone and their dog is invited to put up a link. Such sites have extremely low relevancy ratings and will cost you points with the search engines.

Essential tools and resources to optimize your site and stay n top of the search engine game

There are a lot of great tools out there that can help you optimize your web site while ensuring that you stay on the good side of all the search engines. Here are a few of our favorites.

Wordtracker: This great online tool helps you select specific keyword phrases that will direct more traffic to your site. Free and paid versions are available.

SitePromoter: This useful software program helps you create individualized submissions to the different search engines.

Optilink: A lot of search engine optimization experts swear by this software. It's a "link reputation analyzer" that helps you determine a site's reputation and why the search engines like it or dislike it. It certainly comes in handy when you're checking out the competition or looking for reputable sites to link to yours!

WebPosition Gold: This is a great piece of search engine placement software that generates Web pages designed to rank high on the major search engines. It also analyzes your existing Web pages, providing suggestions for improvement, and tracks your ranking on different search engines.

Search Engine News: Planet Ocean's online resource, "The Unfair Advantage Book on Winning the Search Engine Wars" is updated monthly and provides excellent optimization tips and information on the Search Engine industry.

Search Engine Watch: This free site is another rich source of tips and information on the Search Engine industry. Paid memberships are available for more advanced content.

Search Engine Guide: This free site contains a lot of useful information about the smaller search engines on the Web, and who you should submit your site to in order to get a better ranking with the bigger search engines.

Final thoughts

Recent research by search engine optimization experts suggests that there is a surprising lack of overlap between the results produced by the major search engines. All too often, sites that are ranked high on Google get a much poorer listing with Yahoo! and vice versa.

This could mean that webmasters are focusing their optimization efforts solely on one search engine while neglecting to improve their ranking with the other. They might be using optimization tactics that work for Google on Yahoo!, without being aware that Yahoo! uses different criteria to index a site.

Either way, sites that aren't optimized for both Google and Yahoo! are missing out on a lot of potential visitors.

And don't forget, MSN will soon be throwing its hat into the ring and switching from Yahoo! to its own search engine technology. When that happens, you should be sure to submit your site to MSN as well.

No one really knows what the future holds for the search engine industry, but one thing's for sure: Businesses that don't stay on top of the changes are going to find themselves slipping behind. Don't let that happen to your business!

7 Steps Of Mega Adsense Earners

7 Steps Of Mega Adsense Earners By: Andrew Daum

The Google AdSense program is like finding money in the street.

Kids in High School are making thousands of dollars a month with Adsense... Housewives, Retiree's, Mom and Pop's who've never made a dime on the Internet have created full time incomes by simply placing AdSense Ads on their web site or blog.

Then you have the "Super AdSense" earners. We have all heard of them... the Elite few who are on track to make half a million dollars a year or more promoting AdSense sites.

Do not be mistaken though... these people are not building like your Mom and Pop's do. They have systems in place that create sites for them... people who build sites for them... they have outsourced and automated many of the tedious tasks such as posting to blogs and searching for keywords.

While most people cannot emulate everything these Super AdSense earners do... many of them you can.

Here are 7 Required Steps you can implement today to copy their success.

1) Starting today... treat your AdSense business like it is a REAL business and track what you do.

Begin tracking what you are doing that works... as well as what you are doing that does not work. This will keep you from making the same mistakes over and over, and you can repeat the steps that have worked in the past. As simple as this step seems... most people do not know the reason(s) to their success or failure.

2) Utilize the latest tools and software available.

The Super AdSense earners are not any smarter than your average person. I know many people think they are... but for the most part, they are regular non techie people.

They are smarter in one respect though... they use the latest tools available to them to automate most of the tasks involved with researching and creating sites. They use the latest keyword, site creation and search engine optimization tools available. The tools they use are their secret weapons.

3) Quit chasing the Mega Dollar keywords.

You cannot compete with the search engine experts who create sites for the $80 payout keywords. You may get lucky every now and then... but in the long run, you are better off building sites for the low to mid range payout keywords. The competition is less, and your chance of success is much higher over the long term.

4) Choose broad niches and break it down.

Choose a broad subject as your main theme (lets use computers for an example). From there... break it down into as many sub niches as possible.

Using Computers as the example... you could build sub niches/sites like laptop computers, computer hard drives, computer keyboards, etc, etc. You could literally build hundreds of sites around one major theme and stay totally focused. Once you have exhausted every possible sub niche of that major theme... choose another main theme and repeat the process.

Keep your sites easy to navigate and forget the fancy graphics that distract your visitors attention. Unless you are just building AdSense sites for the fun of it and to impress your friends... the purpose of having the site is to have people click on one of the ads, right? Then keep the site layout simple... dump the scrolling banners, dancing chickens and colored scroll bars... they are distractions.

6) What is the purpose of your web site?

Your web site cannot be everything to everybody. If you have a full fledged ecommerce site, with products for sale... links to other products, it is not a good site for AdSense. If the primary focus of the site is to sell products... let it do that.

Do not distract or confuse your visitor with to many options or choices. The best AdSense sites are AdSense only content sites that sell nothing. They are sites that "Tell"... not "Sell."

7) Be consistent.

This is not one of those deals where you build one site and you are done. Refer back to Step #4. You must continuously build in order to be successful.

Think of it as planting a crop that you will harvest in a month or two, and the sites you build are seeds. Once the seeds have grown and matured... you will reap the harvest. The more seeds you plant... the larger the harvest.

To sum it up... utilize the tools available to automate as much of the process of building sites - doing research and building keyword lists as you can. This alone will help keep you organized and on track. Be consistent in building... treat it like the business it is and you will reap the rewards of your harvest.

10 SEO Tricks to Attract More Traffic to Your Blog

10 SEO Tricks to Attract More Traffic to Your Blog By: David Cowgill

As fancy as the term "blog" sounds, it's actually just a website that uses a content management system. While most blog software is more search engine friendly out of the box than many web sites, the opportunities for blog optimization are readily available.

Here are 10 tricks that will increase your visibility in search engines and eventually drive more traffic to your blog.

1) Use keywords in your blog post titles - This is a given for SEO. Most blogging software uses the post title as the url so take advantage of it.

Example: “10 SEO Tricks to Attract More Traffic to your Blog - Search Engine Journal"
Search Engine Journal is included on every blog post title tag automatically.

2) Optimize your blog categories - When you create categories for your blog, be sure to use keywords in the titles. When you post, be sure to default to a general category that is relevant no matter what the post is about. Choose multiple categories on each post when appropriate. This will create a “SEO-friendly" url for each post you make.

3) Syndicate your blog - Make it easy for people to subscribe to your blog. Sign-up with a free service like Feedburner and then create a “syndication" area on your site.

4) Offer RSS to email. Anywhere from 10% to 40% of your blog traffic can come from individuals that perfer to read blog posts via email. RSS readers and aggregators can be confusing. Adding email services to your blog isn't. There are several free services available for this including: FeedBlitz, Squeet, and Zookoda.

5) Ping blog search engines - This can be configured with blog software such as Movable Type or WordPress to work automatically. If you're using, then you can do this manually with or

6) Make comments on other blogs. Your name will be linked to the blog url that you enter. Don't make comments that offer no value to the blog post. Don't use keywords in the field for your name, use your name or blog name.

7) Submit your blog directories. Also submit the blog to regular directories such as (DMOZ, JoeAnt, GoGuides, Google Blog Search, etc) that have categories for blogs.

8) Targeted advertising – Now this doesn't really drive traffic to your site but will make you money. It's possible by using Google AdSense to display highly targeted ads on your blog. Once you've setup an account and placed the ads on your site, just sit back and watch the cash come in. Cha-ching.

9) Snatch up hot keywords - Now before you place ads on your blog, be sure your keyword density is good for the right terms. A great tool to improve your traffic for high-paying keywords is to use a product called Keyword Elite (

10) Use track backs - If there is a blog that you refer to or quote and it is highly relevant to your subject, leave a track back. It increases your link popularity and may even score a few interested readers from the linked site. A TrackBack is a mechanism used in a blog to show, around an entry, a list of other blogs that refer to it.

The important thing to remember is that no matter how many optimization tactics you employ with a blog, there is no substitute for quality content. Blog optimization is only as effective as the quality and usefulness of the content you're optimizing. So do not limit yourself to tips and lists. Use your imagination and you will come up with thousands of ways to drive traffic to your blog!

(SEO) Will Make The Difference to Your Success

(SEO) Will Make The Difference to Your Success! By: Mark Nenadic

SEO - is the latest in techniques used by web masters for making the overall layout, structure, and keyword patterning of your website relevant to search engines and web directories where the site has been submitted. This technique, readily available by professionals in any quality SEO company or firm, allows search engines and directories, both human indexed, and spider indexed, to properly categorize and rank your site to be found when a user makes a search.

SEO teaches the different search engines and web directories which keywords are most relevant to your website, so that they will obtain high ranking when someone makes a search for that exact keyword. Search engine ranking is very important because the majority of internet users will only look at the first sites listed whenever they do a search. Therefore, even if your page is listed 12th with Google for a given keyword, it may never be seen by web users, because they simply don’t scroll that far down the list.

For this reason, it’s very important that you incorporate proper SEO strategies into your website. This may involve hiring an SEO firm or an SEO company for their different services.

Among the most common SEO services are articles. These are articles written with interesting or informative content, but which have been structured specifically around a specific keyword. Therefore, if your company sells widgets, you might want to include an article on your website that uses the word “widgets company” throughout its paragraphs.

To come up with your keywords, try to think about the different ways that you’d search for your own website. Think about your services, your products, the information that you provide, and the type of customer you’ll want to attract. You can either make your own list, or use a computer program that is designed for coming up with the different words that will work the best for you. If you hire an SEO company, they will likely have that sort of program available. It allows you to simply give an idea, such as “widgets”, and it will come up with all of the relevant search words that people use, and will tell you how many other sites already come up in search engines when that word or group of words is used.

There is a trick to writing a proper SEO based article. Although it may seem as though you can simply write a regular article and plug in your keyword, there are actually some other things that you need to consider. For example, if you use the keyword too frequently, many search engines will not recognize it as SEO, but will instead see it as SPAM. Similarly, if you use the word too infrequently, the search engine will not recognize the keyword as being relevant at all.

This is where experts seem to disagree. While some believe that the keyword should be used once within the title of the article, and up to ten times throughout the rest of the text, others believe that it should only be used three more times, and a subheading is required.

In fact, there are many different techniques that work very well for proper SEO, but it is a matter of knowing what you’re doing, and being consistent about it. For this reason, it’s not a bad idea to hire either a freelance SEO writer, an SEO company, or a firm. This will ensure that you have the best odds at achieving those coveted top search engine ranks.

Whatever you choose to do, make sure that SEO is a part of your website…unless, that is, you don’t want to encourage any visitors at all!

10 Copywriting Tips for SEO and PPC

10 Copywriting Tips for SEO and PPC By: Craig Rad

This article provides helpful information for any copywriter trying to adjust to working with an SEO/SEM agency.

1. Write for your audience first, then search engines.

Crossing brand communication and sales driven goals with manipulating search engine algorithms is not a process which involves any comprimise. Firstly write from a sales perspective, then tweak your copy until it meets keyword density requirements.

2. Write as much as possible!

When writing for search engines the more content you have on your website the better. That is as long as it ties in tightly with your websites theme and purpose. Through having more content on your webpages you open up opportunities for people to come across your website through long-tail search terms.

3. Select keywords based on 4 factors.

Selecting keywords is a job that may be left to a copywriter or a search marketer. Should you be asked to select keywords, then you should consider the balance of these 4 factors in deciding which words are best to go after.

Optimization of competitors.
Volume of search queries.
The intent of traffic (how targetted the traffic is).
Net profit per visitor.

It is often far more helpful to gauge these factors if your client has embarked on a PPC campaign and has data to share. If you are not fortunate enough to be able to view this information, then much of it can be reached by assumption.

4. Building an Internal Linking Architecture

Although you may not be directly responsible for all navigation and architectural issues, you are within content. Understand the power of anchor text, and how it should be used to help search engines understand the purpose of a given page. Consider altering anchor text with derivatives such as 'word', 'words" and always avoid any anchor text reading 'click here' or 'read more'.

5. Titles, Titles, Titles

When writing information based copy rather than sales copy, titles can evoke response, be used as anchor text from external links and can help engage readers. Choose a title that evokes intrigue and that is also relevant, however avoid writing an article to suit a title.

6. Short Paragraphs, Bolded Words

Using short paragraphs and bolded words allow for skim readers to skim your article and this also allows people to digest the information they are looking for whilst missing out what they are not. Sub-headings also have their place in helping to reach this goal.

7. PPC ad copy

Although click through rates do not lie over a large sample, it is also the case that following certain strategies can help you to attain you to increase click through rate. Ensure that you include the main keyword within the title, so that it is bolded and even consider doing this within the description.

8. Use split testing to your advantage

If your client is performing split-testing then ensure that you use this to your advantage. Opt for two approaches that are different at first, then go onto use split-testing to tweak your copy for better conversions. Always explain to your clients the role that their graphic designer has in this process, and ensure that you do not allow your perceptions to mask what works best.

9. Keyword Density

As long as a keyword appears in the body text this appears to be enough for a top spot on any search engine for that phrase. What is more important, is ensuring that related keywords appear on that page so that the theme of your web page can be easily identified.

10. Content is not King

Links are king and content is his army. Without links you can forget about ranking well for competitive phrases in the organic SERPs. Ensure your client knows it from the outset.

SEO - Search Engine Optimization - It's Importance

Explain what is Search Engine Optimization?

Search Engine Optimization is one of the many online search engine marketing methods that are used to intensify the popularity of a website amongst search engines, by making optimal use of the different keywords or combination of keywords that net surfers apply as input during query when seeking particular information or products related to those keywords.

The purpose of SEO or Search Engine Optimization is to enhance the presence of a website in the search engine ranking pages or SERP’s particularly amongst the first twenty of the search results.

The rankings of the web pages of a website can be improved only if it’s optimized for proper indexing by the search engines after the website
• Has been structured appropriately by use of noteworthy keywords that are habitually used by surfers when looking for different information.
• Its content enriched with information that has keywords used for search and
• By having it linked back through top ranking websites.

Every Search Engines have their own set of algorithm or a step by step finite computational procedure that’s programmed to read through the contents of a website and make note of the keywords and the links used within the content.

The Search Engines then stores this relevant information in their huge data base.

Accordingly a search engine is able to evaluate the websites based on the parameters applied for page ranking as per the category of algorithm used during search results.

The algorithm and the parameter used by the search engines are different from one another for page ranking.

Other than those search engines that use WebCrawler to automatically index the websites, there are those where the websites are evaluated manually upon submission and there are those which are hybrid where both robot and manual procedure used for grading of the WebPages.

The ranking method is usually a closely guarded secret and is frequently changed such that none of the WebPages enjoy permanent slot particularly amongst the top ten results during search. This keeps the webmaster and the SEO experts to keep guessing about the changes in parameter for page ranking.

Since 90% of the searches that’s made by the surfers the world over is through search engines that’s why to increase the popularity of a website Search Engine Optimization is essential.

How To Drive Free Traffic to Your Website Through Regular Articles

My Dearest Friend

I mentioned how important is content for a website is to remain popular both with the search engines as well as amongst the net savvy surfers that frequent the internet to gather information from all corners of the globe.

The information could be on any kind of subject that the surfers are interested in or attempt to make an overt research on a particular problem that might be intriguing them for sometime before arriving at a decision for the next course of action.

The assortment of problems could be varied, whether it be personal, marriage, children, medical, employment, career, business, education, travel, finance, health, diet, fitness, housing, tangible and intangible, so on and so forth, the spectrum of problems being far too many is beyond the scope for this blog to list them all here.

It’s for you to choose the kind of problem that you wish to solve by providing adequate solutions and information that could be either generic in nature or specific as you might think it fit to discuss at length.

The more specific is the kind of subject you choose and more information that you might pack in will give your website the niche and will succeed in attracting the kind of segment who are genuinely interested.

Now you might be wondering how best it will suit you to multiply the popularity of your website.

I have for you a combat like strategy that will help your website an edge over your adversaries in cornering a sizeable portion of the net money pie.

Once you have decided the kind of theme you wish to choose will provide your website the niche that will make it easy for you to comb a fine section of the net savvy surfers like a laser.

Then like a powerful vacuum you will be able to suck them like swarm of bees to your particular website.

Once you have succeed in channeling the genuinely interested net surfers to your website, you can then bombard them with your highly motivating and satisfying information that’s not to be found elsewhere on the net and you alone have the expertise, the tools, the information, the solutions that will make your visitors to fall in love with your website and subsequently become loyal customers for life, as they keep visiting your website to update themselves with the latest information and tools that you have on offer, time to time, in the form of articles, newsletters, RSS etc.

This is how you will succeed in winning the confidence of your customers and clients who visit your website as well as create a sort of win-win relationship with them. It’s also an excellent way to keep in touch with your customers such as by opt-in emails etc. through your articles, that you also compile them in an archive or blog.

However you might wonder how are you to boost its popularity as well as get it noticed by the top search engines such as Google and Yahoo, so that it has a top ranking in the very first page of its list of search results.

This is possible if you contribute to the various article directories by writing highly informative articles that will immediately attract attention amongst the eager and genuinely interested customers.

Each of these articles will have a link back to your website. In this way you can boost the popularity of your website by 100% if not more as traffic increasingly keep flowing to your website from these popular articles that you regularly contribute to the various article directories all over the World Wide Web.

This also establishes your presence and credibility over the net as well as boost search engine rankings that will power it to pump more traffic to your website.

That’s how you will be able to drive traffic to your website.

The article that you will be writing should be rich in keywords that are most sought after by the net surfers through search engines.

The popularity of the keywords that are most used as input in the search engine when looking for your kind of information that you have for your website theme can be found out through keyword analyzer.

After you have found out the popularity of a keyword based on the number of searches that are made in a month, and the number of websites that’s made available through the search engines to cater to the demand, you can decide which keywords are the best suited for your article.

Based on the choice of keywords ranked accordingly by their popularity you can now write articles of not more than 400 words at the most based on each of these keywords.

In the very first 90 characters make sure you have your keywords mentioned that’s relevant to the information that you are providing in the article and which you wish to draw attention so that its noticed by the spyders and crawlers of the search engines.

It would certainly not spoil the broth if you dash few of the keywords in the last paragraph too.

It would be a good idea if you can briefly give the credentials of the author, which in this case will be yourself, this will help to build bridges and confidence amongst your readers whom you wish to turn them into your most loyal customers.

Make a profile of the customers visiting your website by getting their bio data when signing them for your newsletters. Offer them gifts for free to encourage them to sign in for a weekly or monthly doze of highly informative articles and plenty of resources to help them in their interest.

For each segment of the customers based on their age, interest, the kind of products they preferred to purchase, the kind of place they belong to, occupation, hobby and many more ways you can breakdown the visitors in various segments.

Focus on each of these segments based on your mode for classification and focus each of these segments with information that’s relevant to their interest and offer products that they will willingly purchase.

When writing your articles make sure it appears professional, i.e. it should not appear sloppy, with innumerable spelling and grammatical mistakes including syntax when constructing sentence.

Above all write your articles in a manner you would converse with friends when communicating with them. Do not make it hard for them to understand and which they cannot decipher unless they have a tutor to guide them.

Submit to those article directories that rank well with the popular search engines such as Google, Yahoo, Alexa, Askme etc,

Hope this strategy will help you to boost your website even if you sell affiliate products or offer free affiliate programs.

Contents are the Flesh of a Website

Hey dearest friend!

What good is a piece of meat that’s all bare bones and lacks flesh that neither satisfy the pangs of hunger nor pleases the palate.

What good is a thick book that’s all a bundle of papers with illegible characters printed on it, which neither makes sense nor stimulates the mind and that which fails to stir the soul. Its all as good as a brick that occupies unnecessary space in the room and is heavy to be lugged along.

The same could be said of a website that’s decked up like a Christmas tree but which neither informs, nor solves the problems of all those who visit with great hopes and expectation.

It’s as good as a weed that clogs the internet and wastes time and money of not only the person who created it but all those who spend precious time, money and space to download it.

Fortune is that webmaster who understands the value of content that gives flesh to the websites, which not only satisfy the passion for more information but also guides and inspires the persons who spends time to go through each of the words that has wisdom enclosed in them.

Knowledge and information is what powers the mind and drives the intellect.
It inspires the man to aspire for greater and better things in life.

It makes him aware of the pitfalls that hasten the decay of the human civilization and with the knowledge so gained from his reading the experiences of others, he quickly learns to avoid.

It’s this knowledge that empowers man that widens his horizon and the understanding of himself in relation to the world in which he elks out a living.

It gives orientation in the life of a person and challenges him to set more goals for himself that he has to succeed in achieving them that outshines others in the race for name, fame, fortune and family.

The experience of which once again adds to his knowledge and the information so gathered during the course of his persuasion helps him to perfect his choice for living and teaches him how he must enjoy the crux of life that puts him at ease and makes him forget the trouble that bothers him.

He is, with the knowledge so gained, is well equipped to control his mind and every aspect of his life that harmonizes his material, economical, emotional and spiritual well being, giving him more reins in his hands to set the course of his or her destiny.

Content of a website is like the broth that fills the bowl. Its importance is indispensable. The more content a website has the more enriched it is and hence is of greater utility to all those who seeks it out through search engines for information and more information.

This explains well why Contents decides the fate and fortune of a Website.
