Online Games with Indian Themes and Characters Gain Popularity among Gamers

In the world of online gaming, Indian gamers are shifting their preferences towards mythical monsters and ancient Indian gods instead of trolls and orcs. They are now seeking themes and motifs that resonate with their cultural background, resulting in a surge in demand for online games that feature Indian characters and themes. This marks a departure from the past where trolls and orcs were the popular characters among gamers.

Over the past few years, game studios such as SuperGaming, Giga Fun, NoddingHeads Games, and Studio Sirah have developed games that either feature characters from Indian mythology like Bheem and Arjun or are based in an unmistakably Indian environment, whether it's futuristic or mythological.

According to a recent study by Lumikai, a gaming and interactive media-focused fund, and Amazon Web Services (AWS), 82% of gamers are interested in playing games that are based on Indian mythology, while more than 40% of non-gamers are inclined to start gaming if the games are based on Indian themes.
